The all new TESLA LE Series cables combine three revolutionary technologies based on the work of Nikola Tesla – the Tesla Tricon cable geometry, Zero Capacitance Active Shielding, and a proprietary Patent Pending conditioning process in a new line of cables that are smaller and more flexible than our previous models with significantly higher performance and value.

The new TESLA LE speaker cables and interconnects feature the ability to change the voicing of your system via three different Active Shielding circuits, called “Enigma Bullets”. Each circuit features a different sonic characteristic:

• Silver Module = Open and airy
• Black Module = Warm and rich
• Grey Module = A hybrid of both the Black and Silver

The “Enigma Bullets” enables you to fine tune any component for a perfect system match.

“Enigma” Active Shielding Tuning Circuits.

TESLA Cables allow you to hear deeper into recordings with detail that’s transparent and non-fatiguing. In fact starting at the TESLA LE Accelerator interconnect and TESLA LE Accelerator speaker cable level, TESLA LE Cables outperform every cable we have ever pitted them against regardless of price.

The hand crafted Active Subwoofer cable is another weapon in the Synergistic Research arsenal. After the accolades and rave reviews received for Synergistic Research cables, from one generation to the next, we were urged to develop a subwoofer link. We developed specialized low frequency geometries, and of course installed Zero Capacitance Active Shielding technology to the inherent signal transfer aspect that low frequencies require. The results were nothing short of amazing.

We have always been aware of just how important phase coherency is in signal transfer. Now through our research we have discovered that lower frequencies are extremely sensitive to very small changes in phase coherency. For example: A 20 hertz low frequency wave requires at least 40 feet to propagate. If the phase is out, by just a little, it provides an unstable platform for the frequencies that are directly above. Higher frequencies have shorter wave lengths, and these are adversely affected by phase shift anomalies at the lower frequency range.

The new Active TESLA LE subwoofer cables feature the ability to change the voicing of your system via three different Active Shielding circuits, called “Enigma Bullets”. Each circuit features a different sonic characteristic:

Synergistic Research speaker cables provide a critical link between power amplifier and transducer. Carrying signal and current accurately, allowing the amp’s rise time and decay to effectively control the parameters of your speakers. Synergistic Research uses proprietary alloy technology, combined with Zero Capacitance Active Shielding, and the revolutionary new Tricon cable geometry in selected cable models. Perhaps the most surprising of the new TESLA LE Series, these new speaker cables are flexible and manageable, while being significantly more dynamic and transparent than any cables we or any other manufacturer have ever built. For speakers with bi-wire terminations, all Active TESLA LE Series speaker cables, TESLA LE Vortex through TESLA LE Apex, employ our new Integrated Frequency Termination (IFT), for a significant improvement in bi-wire performance. Lastly, TESLA LE speaker cable models, TESLA LE Accelerator through TESLA LE Apex, are treated with the ground breaking new Quantum Tunneling conditioning process for never before heard layering, transparency, and low frequency impact and control.

The new Active TESLA LE speaker cables feature the ability to change the voicing of your system via three different Active Shielding circuits, called “Enigma Bullets”. Each circuit features a different sonic characteristic:

• Silver Module = Open and airy
• Black Module = Warm and rich
• Grey Module = A hybrid of both the Black and Silver

In the past, Synergistic Research (and other cable manufacturers) have “split” a speaker cable’s geometry in half to provide separate leads for high and low frequency terminations. On the surface, this seems the most logical choice, and was our preferred method of bi-wiring for nearly 20 years. Theoretically, this method for bi-wiring connects the amplifier to the filter halves (crossover) separately to prevent inter-modulation, generated by one driver, from influencing the other driver.

However, If you look at the damping factor that reduces the unwanted signals, you will find that they differ very little, with or without cables (with 5 or 10 meter long cables for example). When using a tube amplifier, the cables (in practice) have no influence at all when dampening the signals from one side of the filter to the other, because the damping factor is too low already in the power amp. The signal will slip through to the other driver, despite the cables. Apart from that, a well designed crossover filter will provide a certain protection against “leaking” inter-modulation, since each half of the filter (the crossover in a two-way system) will damp each half of the frequency range.

Another method of bi-wiring is to run two different cables in parallel, thus giving the amplifier the ability to choose separate cables that are especially suitable for each half of the frequency range. This has been a hallmark of Synergistic Research cable design, going back to our fist Signature speaker wire: The Signature No. 2. If you assume that the signal always takes the path of least resistance, the right path will be chosen automatically.

Disadvantages of The Traditional Bi-Wire Termination
When you bi-wire your loudspeakers, the input of the high and the low pass filters are fed with different input signals. This difference is a result of the high and low frequencies being forced to travel different paths, perhaps through different types of cables, but under all circumstances through cables that have seen different loads. A tweeter with a high pass filter has a completely different impedance response compared to a woofer with a low pass filter!

The drivers do not integrate when their filter halves (crossovers) are fed with unequal signals. The result is the generation of phase error that effects the sound and transfer of phase information to the different drivers in a speaker. This phase error occurs because there will be non-linearity in the low and high frequency paths.

What does this sound like? Well, usually, just as you would expect from physics, it appears as a change in the reproduction of space and sound staging. The impression after a week or month is that all recordings sound very much alike.

Integrated Frequency Termination (IFT) Bi-Wire
All Tesla speaker wires, from Vortex through Apex, function as a “lens” to control electromagnetic inter-modulation. Accelerator through Apex contain at least one Tricon lens geometry, to precisely control electromagnetic fluctuations, for perfect phase time transfer. IFT Bi-Wire ensures that your amplifier “sees” consistent loading, from low to high frequencies, for sound staging that is as expansive as it is precise. Low frequencies are further tuned, in series, with high frequencies, through a transmission line precisely tuned to low frequency transfer, that exactly match the speaker wire geometry.

Shotgun Bi-Wire vs. TESLA IFT Bi-Wire
One option that does not take advantage of IFT Bi-Wire is a “shotgun” termination of two parallel speaker wires, terminated to a common set of spades or bananas at the amplifier end. Obviously this option would double the cost of bi-wiring your system (when compared to IFT Bi-Wire). but would it carry higher performance? The simple answer is NO. First, by separating the high(er) frequencies from low frequencies, the amplifier sees very different loads, and transfers your music as a mismatched signal, with significant phase distortion to your speakers. It is as if you are “focusing” on the upper frequencies with a wide-angle lens, and focusing on the low frequencies with a telephoto lens. This presents high frequencies and low frequencies in different aspect ratios, for a sound stage that sounds “bigger” in the upper registers than it does in the lower registers, and this then introduces sound staging problems. A far better option would be to spend the extra money on a higher end speaker wire (with IFT Bi-Wire), thereby elevating your systems presentation in an equal and balanced way.

If the manufacturer of your speakers insists on running separate speaker wires to the high and low frequency of your speakers binding posts, we can arrange for you to audition two speaker cables in “shotgun” vs. the equivalent higher end IFT Bi-Wired speaker wire (of approximately the same value). You can make the final call as to which bi-wire option delivers higher performance.

IFT Bi-Wire vs. Jumper Cables
So how is IFT Bi-Wire termination different from standard jumper cables or binding straps? Simple: Jumper cables are rarely tuned to the frequency range that they are intended to transfer, and are often times of a much lower quality then the speaker cables they are used with. Furthermore, jumper cables introduce additional hardware, in the form of spade lugs or banana plugs, that further degrade the sound. Bi-wire binding straps are almost always worse then jumper cables, as they are little more then plated metal of a quality and build that introduces considerable distortion in the form of harsh highs or muddy lows.

For the purpose of auditioning TESLA Speaker Wire, many dealers opt for non-IFT Bi-Wired speaker wire models, and will instead provide you with IFT Bi-Wire Jumpers; identical to the “hardwired” IFT Bi-Wire speaker cables. Aside from the addition of an extra set of connector hardware (spade or banana), the performance will be similar to that of our IFT Speaker Cables.

Figure 1: From this graph you can see the damping factor, and the real damping effect, that are the result of different cable lengths and different cables, as well as different amplifiers. With a good transistor amp, the damping will be decreased about 4 dB with a 5 meter cable. With a good tube amp, the damping will lose about 2 dB (the original damping with the tube amp was about 14 dB less, however).

Figure 2: These two curves show the crosstalk from the woofer to the tweeter. Crosstalk from a bi-wire configuration is represented with the lower curve.

Figure 3: This is a simulation diagram. The two components at the far left simulate the woofer resistance and inductance. The next two components are the low pass filter for the woofer. Of the next six components, the horizontal graphic represents two cables, and the vertical graphic represents the output impedance of the amplifier. The broken line converts from bi-wire to single wire. After the conversion, the first two components represent the high pass filter to the tweeter, and the five remaining components represent the tweeter.

Figure 4: This simulation is based on the diagram in figure 3. Here you can see that a phase difference arises when bi-wiring is used. The phase difference is largest just above the crossover frequency, due to the inductance of the cable, combined with the capacitance of the high pass filter. The inductance of the low pass filter is represented in this range when a single wire is used. The most probable reason for the capricious sound of bi-wiring is that in addition to a steady state error, another, transient induced phase error between the cables will appear when playing music. This changes the dispersion pattern of the speaker output. The human ear is very sensitive to such phenomena.

The T1 is a flexible non-Active power cord comprised of one high current Tricon and one T2 cable geometry. This cable has a fast and open sound, with wonderful mid-range bloom and low frequency control.

As a power cord for plasma and LCD, as well as projectors, the T1 represents near state-of-the-art performance with noticeable improvements to black point levels and greater detail in shaded areas, as well as improved color saturation and sharper detail. The T1 noticeably lowers noise and motion artifacts that plague LCD and plasma screens, especially when viewing standard definition broadcasts.

Since the T1 is non-Active, you have maximum flexibility when powering video sources where additional wires may be unwanted, or when additional outlets for an MPC power supply may be unavailable. The T1 represents the state-of-the-art for non-Active power cords when used on video monitors and projectors.

Options: The T1 is a 15-amp cord, and built with a special slim line finish that makes routing T1 Power Cords behind flat panel monitors and projectors as easily as stock power cords.

Norm Luttbeg, Dagogo

Active Shielding / Zero Reactive Capacitance: The T2 is an Active version of our T1 Power Cord, and offers significant improvements in sound stage air, layering, detail, and low frequency control and extension. Active Shielding decreases the noise floor for a blacker background. Fine inner detail and micro transients are greatly improved, along with overall smoothness and musicality. The T2 is a personal favorite of our lead designer, Ted Denney, as a pre amp power cord, and is used in our reference system along with Hologram A and Hologram D Power Cords. As always, system synergy is the goal, not merely purchasing the most expensive cable you can afford. As a power cord for video, the Active Shielded T2 presents a lower noise floor for cleaner images, with lower artifact levels when compared to the non-Active T1.

Combine T Series Power Cords In Your System: When voicing your system using Active T Series power cords, start with stock power cords on your digital components. Then place a T3 power cord on your amplifier(s), and compare T2 to T3 on your pre-amplifier. Finally, replace the stock power cord on your digital source (CD or DVD) and compare T3 to T2 powering your digital components. As you compare T2 to T3 power cords, you will notice differences in high frequency presentation as well as mid range bloom and soundstaging.

TESLA LE Subwoofer 1 cables deliver the same benefits as our retired Alpha Sterling Active Subwoofer cables, but to a greater degree. Benefits start with deeper frequency extension, and not like turning up the volume on your powered subwoofer, but like upgrading to a much better subwoofer. The effect is not unlike spending many times as much on a much better subwoofer. As with all Synergistic Research Active Subwoofer cables, soundstage depth and width will be greatly enhanced, with layering and holographic presence that is startling at first listen. The TESLA LE Subwoofer 1 cable outperforms the Alpha Sterling in it’s application with higher performance powered subwoofers, to deliver enhanced detail from lower frequencies and the highest frequencies your system is capable of producing. Refinement of overall presentation will also be enhanced with smoother highs, more layered mid-range, and deeper, more extended bass frequencies, all with a more layered and holographic sound-stage.

The new Active TESLA LE subwoofer cables feature the ability to change the voicing of your system via three different Active Shielding circuits, called “Enigma Bullets”. Each circuit features a different sonic characteristic:

• Silver Module = Open and airy
• Black Module = Warm and rich
• Grey Module = A hybrid of both the Black and Silver

The “Enigma Bullets” enables you to fine tune any component for a perfect system match.

“Enigma” Active Shielding Tuning Circuits.

Application: For systems seeking to optimize low frequency extension, with better integration, and an overall increase in sound-stage depth, width, and layering. Detail in the upper and mid-range frequencies will also be improved with more inner detail and extension when compared to Alpha Sterling Active Subwoofer cables.

Geometry: Dual Parallel (Active Conductors: Copper Matrix Type 1 )

Terminations: RCA and XLR

Adam Smith, HiFi Choice

TESLA LE Accelerator Speaker Cables are the first Speaker Cables to employ the complete triad of TESLA Technologies: Zero Capacitance Active Shielding, Quantum Tunneling, and the revolutionary Tricon high current cable geometry that eliminates phase distortion caused by electromagnetic interaction between conductors. By combining one high current Tricon geometry with one high current Vortex geometry, TESLA LE Accelerator Speaker Cables have a natural balance that compliments a wide variety of speakers and electronics.

TESLA LE Accelerator Speaker Cables offer significant improvements over TESLA LE Vortex in higher end systems with enhanced air, inner detail, speed, transparency, overall soundstaging, high & low frequency extension, and pinpoint imaging, due to Quantum Tunneling and the high current Tricon geometry. In fact, TESLA LE Accelerator speaker cables outperform many speaker cables on the market at one half to one third the price, and are an exceptional value.

The new Active TESLA LE speaker cables feature the ability to change the voicing of your system via three different Active Shielding circuits, called “Enigma Bullets”. Each circuit features a different sonic characteristic:

• Silver Module = Open and airy

TESLA LE Subwoofer 2 cable is the perfect Active subwoofer cable for most music and home theater systems. It delivers all the performance found in TESLA LE Subwoofer 1 cables, but with a level of refinement and frequency extension that they cannot match. This cable delivers a huge expansive sound field; many times bigger than is possible without a TESLA LE Subwoofer 2 cable in your system. The increase in detail in the upper registers is possibly the most amazing aspect of this cable. At first listen, many users report hearing details from their favorite recordings for the very first time. Home theater buffs report imaging so improved they find themselves turning down their systems in the middle of a film to see if what they are listening to is coming from the score or from outside. To say that the TESLA LE Subwoofer 2 cable is a breakthrough is an understatement. This is a must audition product.

The new Active TESLA LE subwoofer cables feature the ability to change the voicing of your system via three different Active Shielding circuits, called “Enigma Bullets”. Each circuit features a different sonic characteristic:

“Enigma” Active Shielding Tuning Circuits.

Application: Greater low frequency extension, better integration of low frequencies with the overall sound field, and a significant increase in stage depth, width, and layering. Detail and refinement are greatly improved over TESLA LE Subwoofer 1 cables when paired with appreciative systems.

Geometry: Dual (Active)

Conductors: Silver Matrix Type 2

Terminations: RCA and XLR

TESLA LE Subwoofer Reference cable is the choice for state-of-the-art audio and home theater systems. For systems whose performance potential warrants the high level of resolve these cables offer, no other subwoofer cable can compare.

Simply put, TESLA LE Subwoofer Reference is not for every system, as most systems are not capable of revealing the level of detail TESLA LE Subwoofer Reference can deliver. For those systems, TESLA LE Subwoofer 2 will be the correct choice. But for a select few systems, TESLA LE Reference will deliver performance that a big a leap forward when compared to TESLA LE Subwoofer 2 cable; as big a leap when comparing TESLA LE Subwoofer 1 cable to the now retired Alpha Sterling Active Subwoofer cable. Of course, hearing is believing, so compare TESLA LE Subwoofer 2 cables to TESLA LE Subwoofer Reference cables in your system before making your decision.

The new Active TESLA LE subwoofer cables feature the ability to change the voicing of your system via three different Active Shielding circuits, called “Enigma Bullets”. Each circuit features a different sonic characteristic:

Norm Luttbeg, Dagogo

The Precision AC is the TESLA Power Cord that excels in pinpoint imaging, presenting images with a startling “you are there” precision. Used as an ultra high current amplifier power cord, the Precision AC is ideal for large tube amplifiers where balance tends toward large and fluid sound fields, lending enhanced control of image placement and layering, or with solid state amplifiers where balance is warm and layered.

Compared to T3, Precision AC has greater high frequency extension and air, with enhanced layering and precise pinpoint imaging. Compared to Hologram A, Precision AC is more pinpoint, while Hologram A illuminates the boundaries of a sound stage with a warmer balance. As a rule, always compare Precision AC to T3 or Hologram A when powering pre amplifiers and power amplifiers. When powering digital components, compare to Hologram D or T3. As always, select the cable that best complements your system.

Combining Precision AC and Hologram Power Cords in SOTA Systems: Our lead designer Ted Denney on design considerations that went into voicing the Hologram and Precision Series power cords.

“I designed the Hologram A and Precision AC cords as counterparts to my Hologram D. Used together they form a flexible power cord system that will complement a wide variety of components and acoustics. The Hologram D is a no compromise power cord for digital sources that presents resolution and ambient retrieval with a natural non-fatiguing analog sound and as such is the corner stone to my ultra high end power cord system.

Like many of my fellow audiophiles, I love the sound of analog playback and strive for the resolution and holographic presence I get from top-flight turntables, tonearms, and cartridges, when listening to digital playback. Sadly, most digital front ends are compromised by power cords and digital cables that sound either overly warm and hence veiled and spatially compressed, or thin and clinical lacking harmonic texture and presence.

I designed my Hologram D to enable digital sources to present detail in an enormous sound field that is liquid with abundant texture and layering. The Hologram D excels in illuminating the boundaries of a sound field by allowing a recording’s natural air and layering to come shining through in a decidedly non-digital way.

To create balance between my different power cords start with Hologram A or T3 on your preamplifier, with Hologram D on your digital components. Lastly, compare Hologram A to Precision AC on your amplifier. While Precision AC is engineered and voiced to excel in pin-point imaging, Hologram A is engineered and voiced to combine pin-point imaging with harmonic richness and fluid illumination of a sound fields boundaries. The final choice between Precision AC and Hologram A on your amplifier will depend on your components, listening room, and personal taste, and when you make this decision a system wide synergy is created.”

Active Shielding / Zero Reactive Capacitance: In transparent SOTA systems, the Hologram A reigns supreme as our reference power cord for amplifiers and pre-amplifiers. It blends an intoxicating combination of precise image placement with holographic illumination that expands the boundaries of your sound-stage. A cable of rich harmonic texture and layering, Hologram A delivers clean power to amplifiers and pre-amplifiers for amazing detail and air that is never fatiguing while low frequencies are tight and deeply extended with realistic attack and control.

When cabling a system with Hologram power cords, start by placing Hologram D‘s on your digital components first. Next place Hologram A or T3 on your pre-amplifier (if comparing, place a stock power cord on your power amplifier and select between T3 and Hologram A). Finally, compare Hologram A to Precision AC on your amplifier.
TESLA LE Precision Reference Speaker Cables combine two high current Tricon geometries, two high current TESLA LE Acoustic Reference geometries, Zero Capacitance Active Shielding, and Quantum Tunneling, for linear detail, speed, and warmth. As with the TESLA LE Precision Reference Interconnect, this cable has a unique ability to reveal an amazing level of inner detail with harmonic structure, due to it’s twin runs of both Tricon and Acoustic geometries. Compared to TESLA LE Acoustic Reference Speaker Cables, TESLA LE Precision Reference presents music that is faster, with enhanced pin-point imaging, and air that extends beyond the boundaries of your listening room. This is the perfect speaker cable for high end tube systems, as it enables music and soundstaging detail without emphasizing or detracting form your systems mid-range bloom and warmth. In high end solid state systems, TESLA LE Precision Reference Speaker Cable presents low frequency control and speed, a holographic sound stage, and transparent frequency extension that makes other detailed speaker cables sound analytical and thin by comparison. Available in silver spade or gold BFA banana terminations, and IFT Bi-Wire.

The “Enigma Bullets” enables you to fine tune any component for a perfect system match.

Jay Fisher, 6moons

TESLA LE Apex Speaker Cable incorporates the most advanced transducer signal transfer technology in the world. This special cable design uses both PMC (Pure Mono Crystal) Silver and Silver Matrix Alloy as conductor materials, dual Tricon Lens, and a quad TESLA LE Acoustic Speaker geometry, to create a technologically unique breakthrough in speaker cable performance. In addition to selected conductor material and geometry, TESLA LE Apex incorporates the unique Zero Capacitance Active Shielding circuitry, which actually prevents phase shift anomalies throughout the bandwidth in signal transfer. The result is a much lower noise floor, blacker background, and solid accurate images that just seem to hang in the air. TESLA LE Apex Speaker Cable will outperform all other cables in terms of dimension and detail, and adds a significant level of refinement, musicality, and pin point accuracy in it’s use of these uncompromising technologies. TESLA LE Apex Speaker Cable is the true “no compromise” speaker cable for the listener who wants it all.

The “Enigma Bullets” enables you to fine tune any component for a perfect system match.

“Enigma” Active Shielding Tuning Circuits.

Usage: All amplifier designs and all speaker designs will benefit. TESLA Apex Speaker Cable stands alone as the highest performance speaker cable with no compromises between speed, detail, natural warmth, and tight and extended lower frequencies.

Active Shielding: Zero Capacitance Apex Active Shielding is the ultimate in detail and transparency, with four active geometries for mid-range warmth, liquidity, and three dimensionality of soundstage.

The TESLA LE Acoustic Reference Active Interconnects combine one Tricon geometry with one Acoustic geometry for a sonic balance that enhances mid-range bloom and allows for greater air when compared to TESLA LE Accelerator. It is the perfect cable for listeners seeking increased mid-range presence and low frequency weight. The Acoustic Reference interconnect presents music with a slightly rounder and musical pace when compared to either TESLA LE Precision Reference or TESLA LE Accelerator interconnects; without sacrificing extension at the frequency extremes. Acoustic Reference should be used first as a source to pre amp interconnect to create a more tube like balance with either TESLA LE Accelerator or TESLA LE Precision Reference interconnects running from pre amp to power amp. Lastly, Acoustic Reference can be used throughout the signal path when a warm musical balance is desired. The Acoustic Reference features Quantum Tunneling, Zero Capacitance Active Shielding as well as one Tricon and one Acoustic geometry.

The new Active TESLA LE interconnects feature the ability to change the voicing of your system via three different Active Shielding circuits, called “Enigma Bullets”.

Usage: Solid State or Tubes, Acoustic Reference interconnects will provide a musical presentation without losing frequency extension. A tube-like bloom is combined with presence and pace bettering the classic Synergistic Research strengths of image liquidity, mid range-bloom and harmonic texture. Acoustic Reference should be used between source components as well as pre-amp to amp applications.

Active Shielding: Zero Capacitance Active Shielding is the ultimate in detail and transparency with two active geometries for mid-range warmth, liquidity and three dimensionality of soundstage.

Geometry: 1 x Tricon / 1 x Acoustic

The original TESLA cable, now called the TESLA LE Precision Reference, is extremely fast, with an ultra dynamic presentation of low frequencies and seeming limitless air. TESLA LE Precision Reference consists of dual Tricon geometries along with PMC (Pure Mono Crystal) silver conductors, which is the purest form of TESLA technology. TESLA LE Precision Reference interconnect presents truly amazing detail and signal speed in a way that is also extremely natural and musical. The sound is HUGE, with amazing air that seems to decay into infinity. In addition to selected conductor material and geometry, TESLA LE Precision Reference interconnects combine a brand new unique Zero Capacitance Active Shielding circuitry, which actually prevents phase shift annomolies throughout the bandwidth in signal transfer. The result is a much lower noise floor, blacker background, and accurate images, that just seem to hang in the air.

The new Active TESLA LE interconnects feature the ability to change the voicing of your system via three different Active Shielding circuits, called “Enigma Bullets”. Each circuit features a different sonic characteristic:

“Enigma” Active Shielding Tuning Circuits.

Usage: TESLA Precision Reference is perfect for components whose strengths are speed, dynamics, transparency and as a pre-amplifier to power amplifier interconnect in upper end systems. It can be further applied to systems by combining it with either Acoustic Reference, Apex, or Accelerator interconnects between a source component and pre-amp, with the Precision Reference interconnect running from pre-amp to power amp.

From Our Lead Designer Ted Denney III

I was looking for a new way of designing cables that did not rely on the old model of increased distance between conductors, and the unfortunate side effect of large cable size and stiffness. My breakthrough came when researching the writings of Nikola Tesla, a man whose work and creativity has inspired me for years. What I found was a radical concept that suggested a cable could be designed that would function as an electromagnetic “lens” to concentrate fluctuating alternating current, and its subsequent electromagnetic fields, for perfect transfer without distortion or loss of signal. Just as a lens focuses light by concentrating or dispersing rays of light, this new geometry, if it could be developed, would concentrate and focus the sonic signal not by separating conductors, but by strategically aligning conductors in a symmetrical geometry that manages electromagnetic fields as a lens precisely focuses light. Rather than increasing the distance between conductors, the TESLA Tricon Lens geometry places the conductors in close symmetrical proximity that can only work when a precise relationship is maintained between the separate conductors, and when the materials are held to ultra high tolerances for exact levels of resistance, capacitance, and inductance, in a symmetrical conductor array. After two years of research, trial and error, and an evolution of prototypes, the revolutionary TESLA Tricon cable geometry was born.

TESLA Cable Technologies: TESLA Vortex, Acoustic and Tricon Geometries
Along the path to discovering the TESLA Tricon Lens, I made significant improvements to existing designs that had been evolving for 15 years. I found I could take existing geometries and re-work them to include precise reformulations of conductor spacing based on the TESLA Tricon Lens formula, for a significant improvement in overall performance. This would later prove invaluable when finalizing the new TESLA Line of cables, and gave birth to two new cable building blocks:	the TESLA Vortex geometry and the TESLA Acoustic geometry. Together, the Vortex, Acoustic, and Tricon cables form the TESLA Triad of geometries that are the building blocks for the revolutionary new TESLA Series.

The Project Goals of TESLA
On the dawn of discovery I was hoping to develop cables that would be small, light, and flexible, while maintaining the same levels of performance obtained in our X2 Series cables. What I was not prepared for was the breakthrough that would become the TESLA Series. After a long trial and error process in developing an electromagnetic lens geometry, we arrived at what would become the TESLA Tricon in the summer of 2006. I remember in vivid detail that afternoon when I first connected two interconnects comprised of two TESLA Tricon geometries in parallel (now the Precision Reference), and listened to a recording I’ve been using since 1995. Fifteen seconds into the first track, I shot up and ran from my listening chair to find Eliott (my co-developer in the TESLA Series). I could not believe my ears, and wanted to find out if something had been changed in our system that I was not aware of (we love to tweak our system, and I needed to know if he had changed something). What I heard was unbelievable! The soundstage had moved out so far past the boundaries of our listening room, that I suspected a major change had been made to our listening room’s acoustics. Furthermore, I was hearing subtle and not so subtle details and frequency extension, from bottom to top, that I’ve never before heard from this recording. The truly amazing thing was that this detail and signal speed was presented in a way that was also much more musical than it had been before. By comparison, the sound we had been making was grainy, opaque, spatially compressed, and slow, with ill-defined bass. Now the sound was HUGE, with amazing air that seemed to decay into infinity. The sound had a transparent “see through” quality and was absolutely effortless and grain free. The soundstage had also moved back several feet, except when instruments were recorded front and center, and these were presented further forward than before. I was beginning to realize that every cable I or anyone else had ever developed was spatially compressed- vertically, laterally, and horizontally. I was also hearing images in a near 360-degree sound field that “wrapped” around my listening chair. Before the Tricon, we had hints of this envelopment, but never to such an extent. Lastly, low frequencies (a long time virtue of Synergistic Research cables), were now tighter, and went deeper with amazing power and control. This was major improvement in an area that I did not think could be improved upon.

Combining Vortex, Acoustic, and Tricon Geometries
Later listening with different combinations of components and speakers revealed this original prototype interconnect was not for every system. Then I began combining it with two geometries we had developed during the TESLA program- the TESLA Acoustic and the TESLA Vortex. By combining different ratios of Tricon, Acoustic, and Vortex geometries, I found we could match an infinite range of components, from tube to solid state. For example: combining one Tricon with one Acoustic creates a cable with a tube like mid-range and wonderful layering that is a perfect match for tube based systems or sold state systems looking for a tube like sound; the Acoustic Reference. Or combine one Vortex with one Tricon creates an amazingly dynamic cable that’s fast and transparent, with a forgiving character that’s perfect for many mid-level high end systems, tube or solid state, and as a state-of-the-art cable for home theater systems; the TESLA Accelerator. The original TESLA cable, now called the Precision Reference, is extremely fast with an ultra dynamic presentation of low frequencies and seeming limitless air. This cable is perfect for components whose strengths are speed, dynamics, transparency and as a pre-amplifier to power amplifier interconnect in upper end systems. It can be further applied to systems by combining it with either Acoustic Reference, Apex, or Accelerator interconnects between a source component and pre-amp, with the Precision Reference interconnect running from pre-amp to power amp. Our flagship interconnect, the TESLA Apex, combines dual Tricon geometries with dual Acoustic geometries, to deliver sound with the remarkable speed, detail, and air of Precision Reference and the mid-range layering and bloom of Acoustic Reference. If ever a Holy Grail existed in cable technology, the TESLA Apex is it.

Zero Capacitance Active Shielding
Further research in the TESLA Series yielded improved Active Shielding, with a new Zero Capacitance Active Shielding circuitry that significantly improves cable bandwidth, especially in the areas of low frequency extension and control, and high frequency air and transparency, with improvements in soundstage depth and width. Compared to previous incarnations of Active Shielding, now in its fourth generation of development, TESLA Series cables unplugged and non-active now outperform older Synergistic Research cables that were plugged in and Active. Turning on Zero Capacitance Active Shielding elevates TESLA Series cables further still.

TESLA Series Speaker Cable
Speaker cable development came fast on the heels of my TESLA Tricon and Zero Capacitance break-throughs. By combining the TESLA Tricon with special high current versions of Vortex and Acoustic geometries, we were able to match speaker cables to amplifiers and speakers, with perfect integration, with our new interconnect designs ,since speaker wire and interconnects are voiced in virtually the same manner. What really surprised me was how small and flexible we could now make our speaker cables. Take the Vortex and Accelerator cables for example. They are no bigger around then your little finger, and yet they out perform our old speaker wire designs that were as big around as your wrist, at a fraction of the cost, with improvements in every aspect, including low frequency control and extension.

Quantum Tunneling
Our last breakthrough in the TESLA Series is perhaps the most startling, and came at great cost in terms of trial and error. We literally fried a mountain of cable before the exact formula could be worked out. This process has led to several patents pending, both domestic and international. Soon we’ll provide dramatic pictures and video footage here on our web site showing cables being treated by a process we call Quantum Tunneling. Quantum Tunneling is a process that changes the way a cable conducts signal ,at the subatomic level, affecting the entire cable assembly; connectors (RCA, XLR, spade, or banana), solder joints, dielectric, and signal and ground conductors are all transformed and integrated as a single unit. By applying a two million volt extreme high frequency signal to a cable at a specific pulse modulation and frequency, for an exact duration of time, we alter the entire cable at molecular level through a phenomenon called “Quantum Tunneling.” This process is performed on all TESLA Series cables, from Accelerator to Apex, and can be applied to models below Accelerator for an additional charge. The before and after is startling, with a lower noise floor and improvements in inner detail, air, low frequency extension, and overall transparency and signal speed. This formula was not perfected until February 2007, however any TESLA cables ,	Accelerator through Apex, purchased before February 2007, can be returned to our factory for a free treatment. Early adaptors of the TESLA Series will be in for a treat, as they will hear their system take a major step forward from what must have been a major improvement in the first place.

The all new TESLA Series cables combine three revolutionary technologies based on the work of Nikola Tesla – the Tesla Tricon cable geometry, Zero Capacitance Active Shielding, and a proprietary Patent Pending conditioning process in a new line of cables that are smaller and more flexible than our previous models with significantly higher performance and value.

TESLA Cables allow you to hear deeper into recordings with detail that’s transparent and non-fatiguing. In fact starting at the Accelerator interconnect and speaker cable level, TESLA Cables outperform every cable we have ever pitted them against regardless of price.

These extraordinary cables represent a new benchmark by which all other cables can be measured and they do this with seemingly opposite strengths. When was the last time you heard cables that set the standard for inner detail, speed, pin-point imaging and transparency while presenting music with as rich and warm a mid-range as cables that set the standard for smooth sound? When was the last time you heard cables that were so holographic that they presented a sound field that wrapped around your listening chair in a two channel system?

Quantum Tunneling

Quantum Tunneling is a process that changes the way a cable conducts signal at the subatomic level, affecting the entire cable assembly: connectors (RCA, XLR, spade, or banana), solder joints, dielectric, and signal & ground conductors are all transformed and integrated as a single unit. By applying a two million volt signal to a cable at a specific pulse modulation, and ultra high frequency for an exact duration of time, we transform the entire cable at a molecular level through a phenomenon called Quantum Tunneling. This process is performed on all TESLA Series cables, from Galileo Basik Strings and Au 79 and Magnetic Tricon to Apex, and can be applied to models not Quantum Tunneled for an additional charge. The before and after is startling, with a lower noise floor and improvements in inner detail, air, low frequency extension, and overall transparency and signal speed.

Quantum Tunneled components and accessories include: All Tesla PowerCell’s, the Teslaplex AC duplex, Galileo Universal Cable Cells, Full Galileo Cable System, Acoustic ART System Resonators (Full Acoustic ART System. Acoustic ART Basik and MiG component resonators are not treated).

Three Building Blocks
The Tricon, Vortex, and Acoustic geometries that combine to build the cable models in the TESLA Series. By combining different ratios of Tricon, Vortex and Acoustic geometries into single cable model like Apex or Accelerator, we are able to match cables to any system while having a perfect mix and match compatibility between different models, since most cables in the TESLA series share at least one common geometry. Below is a brief run down on the three basic building blocks of the TESLA Series as well as background information on how these cables combine to make certain TESLA cable models.

TESLA Tricon
The Tricon geometry is engineered to function as an electromagnetic “lens” to concentrate fluctuating alternating current and its subsequent electromagnetic fields for perfect transfer without distortion or loss of signal. Just as a lens focuses light by concentrating or dispersing rays of light, this new geometry concentrates and focuses the sonic signal not by separating conductors, but by strategically aligning conductors in a symmetrical geometry that manages electromagnetic fields just as a lens precisely focuses light across a broad spectrum. Rather then increasing the distance between conductors, the Tesla Tricon Lens geometry places its conductors in close symmetrical proximity that can only work when a precise relationship is maintained between it’s separate conductors when all materials are held to ultra high tolerances for exact levels of resistance, capacitance and inductance in a symmetrical conductor array. This is the most complex and difficult cable we have ever built.

Subjectively, the Tricon exhibits never before obtained signal speed, clarity, and detail. Combining two Tricon geometries in parallel, as we do with our Precision Reference interconnect, creates a cable that is detailed fast and dynamic without being thin or analytical. That it delivers this kind of benchmark performance while remaining musical and richly layered in the mid-range is most unusual. Further combinations of Tricon and either Vortex or Acoustic geometries create a wide range of sonic characteristics that can be perfectly matched to target systems and components, without losing neutrality in the subjective context of cable system matching.

TESLA Vortex
Vortex cable geometry is a hybrid of our Kaleidoscope Phase II, with a reformulated geometry and a special high current speaker cable variant. Running two Vortex geometries in parallel, as we do in our Vortex speaker cable, yields a cable that is fast (though not as fast as cables with Tricon), richly layered in the mid-range, with dynamic and well-controlled low frequencies. This cable also matches a wide variety of components and speakers, delivering optimal levels of detail and warmth. Combining one Vortex with one Tricon geometry creates the Accelerator Interconnect and Speaker Wire (again with the high current speaker wire variant of the Vortex geometry). Accelerator cables out perform our old cables at less then half the price, and do so with interconnects and speaker cables that are no bigger around then your little finger.

TESLA Acoustic
The TESLA Acoustic, in both it’s interconnect and high current speaker cable variant, are a hybrid of our old Absolute Reference geometries, with a reformulated geometric ratio and refined material selection. Combining one Tricon with one Acoustic cable geometry (Acoustic Reference) yields a cable that is at the same time more resolved then our prior Designers’ Reference cables, while presenting a rich mid-range and signal presentation reminiscent of the world’s best vacuum tube circuits. This is a perfect cable for vacuum tube systems, or as a source to pre-amp interconnect for hybrid tube / solid state systems, or for solid state systems seeking a more tube like presentation when combined with either Precision Reference or Accelerator interconnects between pre and power amps. Our flag ship interconnect is comprised of two Acoustic and two Tricon geometries, for a presentation that simultaneously sets the standard for both inner detail, speed, and transparency, with a romantic mid-range, holographic soundstaging, and low frequency impact and control like no other cables on the market.
