MiG: Mechanical Interface Grounding
Our new MiG component footers deliver vast improvements to all systems. Based on our Acoustic ART System resonators, MiG’s (Mechanical Interface Grounding) re-tune a component’s mechanical resonance, while providing a lightning fast drain of mechanical energy to ground. The result is a much larger soundstage with a lower noise floor for blacker backgrounds.
Other benefits include sweeter highs with extended air, a more layered and relaxed mid-range, and deeper tighter bass. MiG’s are especially beneficial when improving the performance of digital components such as transports, D to A converters, and CD players, and are a must audition for anyone seeking organic natural sound.
MiG’s are versatile and can be placed in different ways to fine tune your system’s performance:

When two MiG’s are placed “round side up” and one MiG is placed “round side down” under a component, as illustrated in the above diagram, you hear a more ambient soundscape that is especially pleasing when room acoustics are somewhat “live” or undamped. You may also prefer this combination if you like a slightly more liquid presentation, or if you often listen to large orchestral works.

When two MiG’s are placed “round side down” and one MiG is placed “round side up” under a component, as illustrated in this diagram, you hear an immediate pin-point presentation of images. This combination is especially pleasing in rooms that are very damped, or for people who prefer intimate recordings, such as small scale Jazz.
Follow These Guidelines When Placing MiG’s in Your System:
When placing MiG’s in a digital system (CD player or two-box digital front end) follow these guidelines: First place three MiG’s under your TRANSPORT or CD PLAYER in the Pin-Point Configuration. Next listen in the Ambient Configuration. You should immediately notice a preference. If your system has a multi-box digital front end (D to A converter and transport), place a second set of MiG’s under your D to A converter in the same configuration you chose for your transport. Now place a set of MiG’s under your pre-amplifier, first in the combination you preferred under your digital component(s). If this does not immediately improve your system, try the opposite placement configuration. Lastly, place MiG’s under your amplifier(s) in the Pin-Point Configuration. Now call your spouse into the room- enjoy!
When placing MiG’s in an analogue system follow these guidelines: First place MiG’s in the Pin-Point Configuration under your phono pre-amplifier, or pre-amplifier if you have an integrated phono/line level pre-amplifier. Next, reverse placement to the Ambient position. You should experience an immediate preference. Next, if your turntable has a separate power supply (one that is not connected to your turntable) place a set MiG’s in the configuration you preferred under your phono-pre / integrated pre-amplifier. Now place a set of MiG’s under your line level pre-amplifier again in your preferred placement configuration. If you do not hear the same level of improvement you have experienced thus far, try the reverse placement option. Lastly, place MiG’s under your power amplifier(s) in the Pin-Point Configuration. Now call your spouse into the room- enjoy!

Argi,
What did you set the Mig’s / Stillpoints on? Were you using a Stillpoints rack? I’ve got custom maple shelves under my components (but wish I could afford a Stillpoints rack). I’m thinking of trying the Mig’s and am wondering if they will work in this configuration. Does anyone else have any experience with Migs and wood?

Hello there
one power amp cinenova grande 7 chnls
one pre amp proc onkyo 5507
one audyssey sound equalizer
one adcom pr amp 555
one blu ray pioneer 91
one projector benq 5000.I have (audioquest sorbogel-cardas v blocks,ayre-taralabs cones-russ andrews woden cones-stillpoints-symposium couplers) -harmonix.So my racks (2) are from exelixis and the best sound (all over) comes from mig.its a bit better than symposium-litl more better than stillpoints. But costs about 150$ the stillpoints (in greece) costs 500 euros.I hope this helps

The short version. The MiGs are well worth the price of admission.
The longer version.
I would define my system as high-end. Not crazy high end but definitely at the point where I have to spend exponential more money in order to get incremental increases in performance. I can tell when new audio gear is introduced to my system. That being said I don’t constantly change gear for the sake of doing so and can differentiate between “better” and “different”.
I am using three sets. One (pinpoint) under my Sony 777es, one set (ambient) under a Wyred4Sound stp-se, and a final set (pinpoint) under my Rotel 1090 amp. I initially started with my cd player and progressively added MiGs to the other components. They provided all the fun stuff we audiophiles are looking for….soundstaging, ambience, depth. bass, and detail but mostly they helped music sound more like the real thing.
Initially I was worried they might be a waste of money..that maybe they wouldn’t provide a enough of a difference to justify a purchase. My retailer offered a trial period so I decided to give them a try. On my lesser gear I use Vibrapods but on the above listed components, the MiGs replaced Ceraballs, and Roller Block Jrs. with upgraded tungsten carbide balls. Actually, when I ordered the MiGs I planned to purchase two sets but the salesman thought I wanted three. I contemplated calling to change the order but I figured I always could send a set back. Needless to say, I keep all three sets and all my previous footers have been replaced with the MiGs. The MiGs improved upon, even a system with footers, to easily justify their price. The seemed to make music sound more organic.
As a fun little side note, before I inserted the third set on my amp, I used it on my little Tivoli radio. I know it is a little on the excessive side but NPR has never sounded so good on that little radio. (pointpoint with two in the front, one in the back).
Fun stuff at a fair price!

Regarding the migs-I had asked if they will work on glass——-
well, they do. I hear what seems to be an overall richer
sound stage–perhaps “wider” if u will.I’m not going to lie and say
they have a drop dead audible difference-but there is a positive effect.
The problem is its like trying to get a hockey puck stay still
on ice–but it’s doable.They are somewhat effective—-
If i had a better rack besides the one i have with lousy glass shelves,I dont know how much of a difference would be heard……..
You asked for candid objectivity—–u got it

I am submitting an addendum to my prior email about the migs.
I used them on my cd ‘Live in gadansk”-David Gilmour CD—
and the cd lit up the room. The difference here was outstanding
in terms of the soundstage being wider-sweeter—-richer sounding.
Maybe there is a more profound effect on certain recordings, but this was spectacular
I am convinced my friend–truely—try it yourself-play “shine on crazy diamond”
with migs in place——–WOW—-
