The Absolute Sound selected the best of the best for 2013, awarding Synergistic Research with 22 Editors’ Choice awards! From Element Series and Galileo System interconnects, speaker cables and power cords, our new PowerCell 10SE Mk III, and The Music Cable (all-in-one plug-and-play computer audio solution), Synergistic Research racked up more Editors’ Choice awards than any other manufacturer.

Below are highlights from just some of the TAS 2013 Editors’ Choice Awards, spotlighting 22 outstanding Synergistic Research products.

Synergistic Research REL SPEC Reference Subwoofer Cable

Synergistic Research REL SPEC Subwoofer Cable

Pricy but potent, these are specifically optimized for the REL-specified Neutrik connectors. They improve the inherent musicality and pitch precision of the Britannia B3 in every instance. The lower noise floor yields more detail, an enhanced sense of space, and expanded ambience retrieval. (NG, 163)

Synergistic Research Element Series Interconnects and Speaker Cables

Interconnects (1m): Element Copper, Element Tungsten, Element Copper/Tungsten/Silver; Speaker Cables (8ft pr.): Element Copper, Element Tungsten, Element Copper/Tungsten/Silver

Synergistic Research Element C/T/S Speaker Cable

The Element Series represents Synergistics costly Galileo System technology in full trickle-down mode. Tailored in three performance levels including the worlds first wire to feature pure Tungsten conductors (the sleeper of the series). In full CTS plumage. Element is difficult to classify as cool or warm, light or dark. Rather, it cues off the recording itself. Spatial relationships and ambiance retrieval are superb, as is its astounding sensitivity to dynamic, micro-dynamic, timbral, and transient gradations. Galileo may be out of reach for most, but Element is Synergistics pièce de résistance for the rest of us. (NG, 226)

Synergistic Research Galileo System

$55,000/11’pr. Speaker Cable; $33,000/2.5m pr. Interconnect

Synergistic Research Galileo System Speaker Cells

This ultra-complex cable and interconnect from Ted Denney of Synergistic Research ay be the most lunatic-fringe-expensive wire JV has tested. Happily, it is also the “lease there” wire JV  has tested. Built like no other, Galileo uses multiple strands of air-dielectric precious-metal wire (called “air strings”),  electromagnetic conditioning, and active biasing to lower noise and increase resolution and transparency. The closest JV’s yet come to using no cable at all. (JV, 210)

Synergistic Research Precision AC basik

$250 per 6 ft. cord

Synergistic Research Precision AC basik

Synergistic Precision AC basik strode through all genres of music with panache. Tonally just a bit cooler than its TESLA Hologram cousin, its strengths were evidenced in the way in imparts depth to orchestral sections, tis retrieval of ambience, and its lively and extended bass response. (NG, 208)

Synergistic Research PowerCell 10 SE Mk III

10 outlet line conditioner and Element Copper / Tungsten Power Cord with 32 AMP Neutrik PowerCon connector

Synergistic Research PowerCell 10 SE MK III

Power conditioners can be something of a mixed bag but the Synergistic PowerCell did not appear to limit current. Instead, it offers even blacker backgrounds and seems to lower grit and distortion. As with all conditioners, however, auditioning the Synergistic in your own system is a must, as the quality of electricity varies markedly fro home to hoe. (JH, 192)

Synergistic Research The Music Cable

 Synergistic Research The Music Cable

It takes a certain amount of nerve (or cluelessness) to write that a $3500 DAC with cables and built-in power conditioner is a “value proposition.” But that’s exactly what the Synergistic Research Music Cable was designed to be, with over $6000 of cabling and conditioning alone. Even coupled to the modestly priced Logitech squeezebox Touch the Music Cable produced sonics that emphatically checked all the audiophile boxes on double-black magic marker. If you want to keep it simple and high end, the Synergistic Research Music Cable DAC may be all you really need. (SS, 228)
