NEW – Tranquility Base
The inspiration for the Tranquility Base came to our lead designer when faced with the challenge of elevating the performance of computer audio to first match (and then exceed) the best performance possible from traditional state-of-the-art (and expensive) multi-box digital solutions.
As Ted saw it, the problem was simple: clean up inherently dirty power supplies and circuits found in computer audio front ends, and the deleterious effect they have on the music we listen to. In order to extract all the information hidden in Red Book and high resolution files, power supplies in digital and analogue sources would first need to be tamed while the signal is still in the computer! Simply filtering signal and electricity as it leaves a component only goes so far, and fails to address this fundamental distortion. Namely, the negative effects that closely positioned circuits, IC chips, circuit components (ie. resistors & capacitors), inductors, and power supplies have on the overall sound of music. By cleaning up the problem before it can affect the music, Ted discovered a fundamental way to improve music reproduction and bring it much closer to the live event; not only for digital based audio but for all audio components.
Tranquility bāsik conditioning Mac Mini and Western Digital Hard Drive
Ted’s breakthrough came when he contemplated the nature of his patented EM Cell technology, as found in our PowerCell line of conditioners and Galileo Cable Cells. He reasoned that if he placed a variation of his EM Cell technology beneath a component, it would have a similar ability to condition signal while still in the component, as it does when conditioning AC and signal running through cables. This led to several new patents pending, and one of the most amazing new products to come to audio in over a decade: the worlds first Active isolation platform capable of conditioning signal while still in your stereo’s components!

Ted,
What’s the cost of the bases and did I read correctly that the large version can replace shelves on Grand Prix Audio racks?

Howard,
Retail depends on your market with export markets being higher due to export costs, import tariffs and taxes. Please call the factory directly for retail in your market.
Tranquility Base XL is a direct drop in for large Grad Prix shelves and will be used in conjunction with Grand Prix racks at the upcoming T.H.E. Show in Newport Beach CA. this June in a cost no object system designed set a new world standard for trade show audio performance. Stay tuned.
Yours in music,

I registered thousands of dollars of cables, power center, interconnect cells, tranquility bases etc. purchased this year through my local dealer and want you to know they are superb in every way. I must say that the tranquility bases are the most cost efficient audio product on the market in my opinion. They have a huge impact on my enjoyment of the music.
I am using all these items in my new headphone system built around Stax 009 ear speakers and a Woo Audio Wes amp.
THANKS

I placed my 17 inch MacBook Pro on the Tranquility Base and couldn’t believe the improvement in sound quality.

I am truly impressed with the improvements the Tranquillity Base brought to my system. I put my Audio Research DAC8 unit on top of the TB and the sound made a step change from before. It is now much more three dimensional, and “live” with much enhanced and detailed bass. The noise floor is now virtually undetectable and I could hear nuances and micro details that I have never heard before. Even the small “ringing” sounds from the tiny metal discs on the tambourine that Serena Ryder strikes in “Good Morning Starshine” could clearly be heard whereas before it was obscured and merged with the overall background sounds from electric guitars, drums etc.,; the resolution is just amazing !!!! When I listened to Japan’s Seiko Niizuma’s “Andante”, it is as if she is there ten feet in front of me and it is just “freakingly real” and lifelike; the presence was never felt before. The TB is one of my best $2K investment in audio upgrades; a much better buy than those exotic interconnect audiophile cables costing tens of thousands. I am saving my pennies to buy more TB’s for line, phono, X/O and other components. The TB is an amazing product. This is my first purchase of a Synergistic Research product and I am truly impressed. Thank you for introducing a great audio product.
