Galileo Discovery
Ethernet.
Galileo Discovery Ethernet cables are refined around a new UEF Graphene Filter first developed for our SRX cable loom and feature a new UEF Compound developed for our Purple Fuses to push the envelope on resolution and musicality. UEF Graphene Shielding now mimics the pattern we designed for our SRX cable loom for a noticeably lower noise floor. To increase frequency extension and sound stage scale, we upgraded the UEF Ground Plane with an improved UEF compound developed for our Purple Fuses. Lastly, we condition the cable with a Long Duration High Voltage process developed for our flagship SRX cable loom and Purple fuses. Optionally, the outer shield can be attached to a wall socket ground with an included ground plug or to an SR Passive Ground Block or an SR Active Ground Block for further improvements to systems that employ our Ground Block technology. For bespoke cable voicing, we include our highest-performance SRX UEF Tuning bullets so you can custom-tune the cable to your system. Listen with either Gold bullets for liquidity and warmth or Silver bullets for high-frequency extension with pinpoint image placement, and select the option that sounds best to you in your system. Of course, you can opt not to use Tuning Bullets if you wish. Sold with a no-risk money-back guarantee through your authorized Synergistic Research dealer in participating markets.
Quantum Tunneling
SRX Long Duration High Voltage Conditioning.
After perfecting the most natural-sounding and holographic cables in our history, we set out to take them further with a new high voltage conditioning process that applies a sweeping frequency plot for an extended duration. We experimented with dozens of frequencies in different combinations over a prolonged time period before landing on just the right mix. We even built a new Tesla Coil to handle the excess heat generated during long conditioning sessions. Once finalized, the SRX conditioning process created holographic realism and timbrel accuracy far beyond our previous Tesla Coil conditioning protocol.
SRX Carbon Fiber Tuning Modules
Redifining Refinement.
To voice Galileo Discovery power cables to your system, we recommend you allow the cable loom to settle for at least 72 hours without tuning circuits before voicing each power cord separately. Then, start as high up the signal chain as possible, listening to your two tuning options and selecting the variant that makes music before voicing the next Galileo Discovery cable down the line. And when voicing with Galileo Discovery interconnects and speaker cables, start with a Silver UEF circuit on your speaker cables without comparing Gold to Silver options. Next, compare Gold to Silver on the interconnect pair as high up the signal chain as possible and select the option that sounds best to you. Now, voice each interconnect option Gold vs. Siver down the line until you arrive at your speaker cables. You will then compare the existing Silver circuit to the Gold UEF Tuning Circuit to arrive at a bespoke match perfect for your system. Lastly, voice your power cords Gold vs. Silver one at a time until all power cords have been voiced. As a rule, you will find one color, Gold or Silver, to sound best in most applications but with a few exceptions where the opposite color is your best fit. In this way, you achieve a custom balance perfect for your system. And should your system change in the future, you can reassess your voicing options to create the ideal match for new speakers and components without reconsidering your cable loom.

"I have been so fortunate to have worked very closely with many of the legendary artists, producers, songwriters and mixers of our time for over 40 years.
I love music and, particularly music when it sounds great. To that end, I have continually updated and evolved my system of playback. As a rule, one never wants to listen to someone’s work with them and have it sound terrible. It’s a good way to lose major credibility and respect. Far better it sound the best they have heard it. I have been lucky to regularly have that be the case. Studio listening versus audiophile listening is extremely different.
I have a highly evolved and considered playback system working in a great room. I have continued to upgrade it at the highest levels of gear and playback results. Always seeking that next level of audio nirvana….
I had spotted mention of various tweaks online and so queried my audio guru about updating elements of the system with various linear power supplies. He noted a number that would bring a great deal and suggested that a filter in the ethernet path would help meaningfully.
I began researching what would be the best solutions, I immediately ran across Synergistic Research, their incredible line of products, and the tremendous respect they enjoyed for their work.
In further proof one can always learn something, my belief of digital cable being basically equal due to the 0 and 1 nature of transmission and that I could work from the source of audio downward in the audio path, was found to be greatly misconstrued. Recognizing the issues of electrical transmission within cable and the potential for noise, I was ready to learn.
I was guided by the amazing Andy Wiederspahn, who suggested that the most immediate changes to the system could be had by a combination of the Galileo Discovery ethernet cable and their UEF Ethernet Switch. They arranged a demo for both. I was excited to hear what was to come.
But, was absolutely NOT prepared for the RESULT. Inserting both into the system transformed it incredibly. The greatest transformation for the least cost I have enjoyed. The imaging became wholly transparent – not more so, wholly. Invisible. Seamless. Positioning of every element was as if in-the-room. Tight. Precise. MAGIC! The relaxed, organic decay of voice and instrumentation became next level, resulting in an ability to hear even the subtlest nuance in a natural, open, un-hyped manner. From classical to rock, EDM, electronic, Pop, Rap, R+B, Soul, etc. = transformative. Everything is meaningfully more so cohesive in ways I have not heard in my very many years of listening. The spectrum of sound reads empirically true and aligned. Which is exactly what I have been working to create for so many years.
It’s moments like these where one must then make the hard decision as to what next to play, discovering the song anew, and then having people keep asking, “Why are you smiling so much?”.
It’s an experience I can’t recommend more. Make you and your ears fulfilled.”

How much do I love these cables? I love them so much that I brought a Gallileo SX USB cable with my portable play back system on a recent trip. I love them so much that I will never again listen to digital audio without them. It's impossible for me to un-hear the difference these cables have made for my listening experience which is why they are now mainstays in my studio.

"Along with the SRX power cords, Andy also sent me a Galileo SX Ethernet cable to try between my router and the Aurender N10. I was using an off the shelf inexpensive Cat 5 Ethernet cable that came with some home router hardware (I know, sacrilegious at the very least). I also experimented with the Audioquest Vodka ($339/1.0M) and Nordost Heimdall II ($699/1.0M). Both were clear upgrades from the standard Cat 5, but neither persuaded me to use either Tidal or Qobuz for serious listening.
The Galielo SX Ethernet Cable ($2995 /1.0M) was a different story. Yes, based on MSRP alone, this is not a fair apples to apples comparison, but the differences were substantial. For a more detailed description of the sound, you can check out my earlier Galileo SX review that included interconnects, speaker cable, and power cords (HERE). The difference that the Galileo SX Ethernet cable can make was relatively the same as the other cables described in the review. I am sure that most are not surprised, but the bottom line here is that cable quality can make a difference—even for streaming, and even for Ethernet cable! I am now digging deep on Tidal and Qobuz, and just for the record, I am greatly satisfied by both!

"This was my first exposure to the new Synergistic Research Galileo SX phono cable. This $5,000 phono cable has transformed my analog playback, something I would have sworn was already exceptional. Am I finally hearing all that my VPI Scoutmaster is capable of? It feels like it, which is why I think the SX is the finest phono cable I have ever heard. I’m unapologetically a fan of Synergistic Research designs, but this may be the best thing they have ever done. It’s that good.
Now, I am addicted to this newish analog rig. I go down to my first-floor listening room every Saturday and Sunday and listen to jazz, rock, and classical music. What I am now hearing, every time I pull out an old favorite, is more musical information. I am hearing new things going on in the background. It’s mesmerizing.
It’s not a bold claim to say that this cable handily meets my four conditions, so let me go farther: the Synergistic Research Galileo SX is the clearest, most musical phono cable I have ever used in my reference system. Beyond expectation, this cable has transformed my analog playback. It is my new reference for what my record player is capable of, and as such, it earns my highest recommendation."

The design advantages provided by the implementation of an internal Active EM Cell, the ability to directly ground the Active EM Cell, and a new developed UEF Matrix Shielding were clearly demonstrated during the review. The approach taken by SR to conduct double-blind trials and selecting the preferred UEF technology based on the emotional connection to the music as one listens proved to be highly successful and validated repeatedly in my listening room. In similar fashion to how the SR Active Grounding Block SE performed in my system, the resulting lower noise floor and frequency uniformity delivered by the Galileo SX AC power cables have allowed me to listen to music at lower volumes without loss of detail, silence between notes, and dynamics. With the Galileo SX cables, it’s much easier to become emotionally connected to the music on many levels.

"My goodness! I thought that I knew this LP inside out, but there is something scary going on here. I feel like I just walked into the actual recording venue. There is a feeling of space and resolution that I never realized was on this recording. By the way, please tell Ben Webster to stop spinning around and to stand still!" And then that gorgeous smile.
It's an interesting thing (at least for me), that when evaluating new components and seeking specific improvements in your system, many times you know pretty much what you are looking for. Better bass. More detail. Improved harmonics. And so on. When you discover improvements for something that was not all that apparent before, it can be quite a revelation and an eye opener—especially if it can provide a dramatic new emotional connection with the music.

"According to Ted, yours truly played a part in the voicing of the Galileo UEFs, at least to this extent: After all these years Denney has a pretty good idea of the timbral and dynamic balance I prefer and he made an effort (or so he tells me) to engineer higher energy, higher resolution, and more neutral timbre into the UEFs. As you can already gather from what I’ve written he has succeeded beyond expectation. This is simply the most neutral (least darkly colored), most faithful to sources, highest resolution, most dynamic, and, given the right source material, most realistic-sounding wire he’s built. Voices and instruments aren’t just unmistakably “right” in timbre, pitch, duration, and dynamic; they also have the lifelike bloom that you hear listening to real instruments being played in a club or a concert hall—the “action” that turns (in HP’s famous paraphrase) painted ships upon a painted ocean into three-dimensional semblances of real-life instruments making real-life music.

"The Galileo SXes are indeed audio’s Ferrari Monzas. No other cable I know of is fully competitive with them on any of their strengths: imaging, transparency, speed, leading edges, detail, noise reduction, dynamics. But don’t let my infatuation with their technical prowess diminish what seems to be these cables’ raison d’être: the reproduction of music. They offered musicality in spades, and on several occasions got me up off my couch and dancing. In “Love Reign O’er Me,” they conveyed Bettye LaVette’s emotional intensity to the point that I wanted to cry. Listening to Pink Floyd’s “Shine On You Crazy Diamond” with the lights low, I felt as if I were on a futuristic set from Blade Runner. These cables should appeal equally to your heart and mind."

"2016 Cable of the Year"
"Ted Denney’s latest creations improve on the cumbersome ergonomics of his original Galileo multi-strand cables (which had to be plugged into and out of a multitude of boxes and actively biased via a plethora of wall-wart power supplies) by packaging most of that marvelous Synergistic technology into the cable itself. Better still, the Galileo UEFs significantly improve upon the truly stellar sonics of the original Galileos. Indeed, the UEFs are the best sounding wires Mr, Denney has yet devised, achieving a dead-center neutrality that is neither “bottom-up” nor “top-down” in tonal balance, without any sacrifice in natural warmth and timbre, resolution of detail, transient speed, dynamic power, imaging precision, or soundstage width, depth, and height. When you consider that the Galileo UEFs are also priced at one-third or one-quarter of what the original Galileos went for (and roughly one-tenth of what flagship cables and interconnects from certain other companies currently cost), you have a veritable bargain in ultra-high-end wire and a worthy TAS Interconnect and Speaker Cable of the Year Award winner."

"2018 Brutus Award"
Without question, the Synergistic Research Galileo SX are the finest cables that I have used in my system. Through this new innovative design, Synergistic Research continues their all out assault on the noise floor which allows for a blacker and deeper background. Music just seems to naturally flow and radiate from the soundstage. Two words kept coming up in my notes as I listened to these cables extensively. Those two words were "ringing" and "smear" or the amazing lack of both. This is all executed without the traditional Synergistic Research implementation of active shielding which has been succeeded by a combination of Matrix UEF shielding, ground plane connectivity, and extensive use of graphene materials. A must audition for those seeking the very best.

"2017 Cable of the Year"
"JV has heard a lot of Synergistic Research cable over the years, but Ted Denney's latest creation, the Galileo UEF, is quite simply the best wire Mr.D has yet designed- better even than the original Galileo, which cost four times as much. Although it is still a bit of a pain to use - because of the various grounding connections required - Galileo UEF is far less of a pain than previous SR wires, simply because the dielectric biasing circuit is built into each cable. (No more wall-wart power supplies stuck in every outlet and power strip of your home.) More importantly, the UEF marks a dramatic shift in SR sonics, coming far far closer to neutral in balance than the darker-sounding originals, without sacrificing any of the speed, color, resolution, or power-range solidity and slam that SR is famous for. A genuine breakthrough for Denney and Co., a relatively good deal compared to some of the six- and seven-figure competition, and a shoo-in for TAS' 2017 Cable and Interconnect of the Year Aware. "Although the Atmosphere UEF Level 4 cables are excellent cables within their price point, the technology employed in the Galileo UEF cables significantly improved upon the performance of the Atmosphere UEF Level 4 cables. Inner detail, low level musical signal retention, and the ability for the listener to easily pinpoint outlines within a well-defined soundstage were exemplary through the Galileo UEF cables. Instruments and vocals sounded lifelike and not electrically constructed through the Galileo UEF cables. The lower noise floor conferred many benefits in the areas of micro and macrodynamics which for me, is at the heart of enjoying recorded music… I have a new reference."

"If all this makes it sound as if the Galileo UEFs do virtually everything at the breathtaking levels of a Zenvo TS1, Bugatti Chiron, or Hennessey Venom GT Spyder, it’s because they do." "Synergistic Research’s Galileo UEF interconnects and speaker cables are technical tours de force that demonstrate just how far the art of cable making has come since the Golden Enz days of electrical-grade copper conductors and connectors of gold-plated nickel. They serve as a reminder of three audiophile truths: the simplest circuit does not always sound the best, the highest-performing products are often not the most expensive, and despite all the amazing progress made, the art continues to advance."

"I could tell something was different from the first note. There was a sense of unfiltered and unprocessed natural clarity to the sound. The noise floor was so non-existent and deeply black that the level of detail and individual notes just seemed to pour out from the Sonus Faber Stradivari speakers, but with a liquidity and ease that was new to my ears."

Over the years, we’ve developed technologies that redefined what we can expect from our audio systems. Products like the original PowerCell with its patented EM Cell set the bar as the world’s first noncurrent limiting AC power conditioner. We then adapted its EM Cell technology to our Tranquility Base isolation platforms that condition signal while still in a component and power cords with Active EM Cells built-in to function as inline power conditioners. We’ve even applied EM Cells to bias system ground in our Active Ground Block ground conditioners and to our FEQ and Atmosphere ULF Field Generators that control room acoustics without the need for massive traditional room treatments. We’ve continued this decade-long adaption of EM Cell technology to condition the digital signal in an Ethernet Switch for perhaps our most transformational product since the original PowerCell line conditioner. It is no secret that digital sound quality has taken monumental strides forward since the days of “Perfect Sound Forever.” It’s also no secret that many audiophiles, including our Lead Designer, find much to love about the sound of analog playback from LP’s and Tapes. To quote the late great Harry Pearson of the Absolute Sound, “The best way to enjoy digital is to not listen to analog,” and in many respects, we agree. A state-of-the-art analog rig still excels in areas of spacial and holographic realism, as well as a harmonic texture that leaves many digital systems sounding somewhat flat and bleached in comparison.
