SRX MSB Spec shares the same hallmarks as the rest of the SRX lineup. Namely, an ultra-low noise floor with inner detail, dynamics, and holographic realism to rival the best analog playback while setting a new digital benchmark. Anyone experienced with master tapes understands there is a significent difference between the best of digital and tape, with tape possessing detail, musicality, dynamics and three diminsionalility not found in other formats. SRX MSB Spec takes your state-of-the-art DAC close to your best tapes in your reel-to-reel deck while surpassing the majority of tapes in your library. And if you are a vinyl lover, you will find many of your files, CDs, and SACDs can now compete with and surpass all but your best vinyl recordings. To set this new digital standard, we start with an exploded geometry comprising of Sixteen High Current Silver Air Strings per pair. Each Air String is hand-made in our California factory from 99.9999% pure silver in an air dielectric with a UEF grid running the cable’s length to lower the noise floor and expand the sound field. We then apply the SRX Long Duration Multi-Frequency High Voltage Conditioning Process for enhanced clarity, musicality, and detail without fatigue. And for a lower noise floor still, connect the SRX MSB Spec’s Digital-side cable’s Ground Plane to an Active SR Ground Block. Each hand-made geometry and ground plane is run through carbon fiber discs to maintain separation between conductors for lower capacitance and cross-talk. Voicing the cables to your system is easy with supplied Gold and Silver SRX Carbon Fibre UEF filters. Gold will deliver a warmer and more liquid sound, while silver has increased air and focus. You decide between Gold and Silver Tuning Circuits by listening to your two options for a bespoke system match.

Note: There is a digital and analog specific cable in each pair. The digital cable has an optional ground pigtail to connect to an SR active ground conditioner while the analog side is voiced perfectly with a built-in gold Carbon Tuning Disc.

Both Gold and Silver bullets are handcrafted in our Southern California Factory from carbon fiber and aircraft aluminum with the Gold option plated in 24k Gold not only for aesthetic beauty but also to help voice the bullet to its intended role as the most musical option for specific systems. To use SRX Carbon Fiber Tuning Modules, allow your SRX cables to settle into your system for 48-72 hours, and then experiment with your two options on a cable by cable basis. Start by inserting a Gold Bullet and then compare to the Silver option and select the variant that makes music in your system. Gold Bullets have a warm and liquid balance that is also more open and transparent than our other warm-biased tuning bullets. While Silver is more extended and detailed but the option that will work best and sound neutral is totally system dependent. If you voice your SRX cables one pair at a time, you will find one color that works best in most applications, plus a few that perform better with the alternate option. This process is how you will get the best from both Gold and Silver bullets when arriving at a bespoke cable loom voiced for your unique system.

After perfecting the most natural-sounding and holographic cables in our history, we set out to take them further with a new high voltage conditioning process that applies a sweeping frequency plot for an extended duration. We experimented with dozens of frequencies in different combinations over a prolonged time period before landing on just the right mix. We even built a new Tesla Coil to handle the excess heat generated during long conditioning sessions. Once finalized, the SRX conditioning process created holographic realism and timbrel accuracy far beyond our previous Tesla Coil conditioning protocol.

I have been using this group of tracks for well over five years and without much change. Typically, I bounce through the first dozen or so just to get a feel for what to expect. Why? The Synergistic Research SRX Power cord has me rethinking my entire system configuration and performance. It is the finest power cord yet to enter my listening room. Key design elements include a unique combination of six-nines pure silver conductors, silver ground plane connectivity, DC biased active shielding, and new Carbon Fiber IEC connectors and Rhodium contacts.

When only one SRX power cord was used with my Synergistic Research PowerCell 12 UEF SE power conditioner to drive my entire system, there was a correctness of presentation and life like experience that had not previously been realized. I can only imagine what might happen if I used the SRX for all my components! Clearly, a state of the art product.

SR25 Limited Edition Power Cable

The inspiration behind SRX…

This is a tour-de-force of all the technologies SR has developed over the past quarter century. SR25 has a linear electromagnetic cell in the form of a handmade Pure Silver ribbon laminate that runs the length of the cable, two electromagnetic cells inside the carbon fiber housing, including a Swiss made power supply. Conductors are 6-gauge 99.9999% pure mono crystal silver totaling 6 gauge. Only 100 SR25 power cords will be made. Just one of these power cords transformed my reference system on the Berkeley reference DAC. This cable is the power cord against which all others will be measured for years to come.

“Synergistic Research’s complex and difficult-to-manufacture SR25 Limited Edition power cord so stunningly demonstrates the relationship between high-quality power and high-quality sound that it may represent the apotheosis of power-cord design. When I said that the SR25 transformed virtually every aspect of my system’s sound, I wasn’t exaggerating. It was difficult to believe that these improvements were caused by a single power cord, or that my system already contained a high-end power conditioner and cords. Once again, Ted Denney has proven that the simplest circuit is not necessarily the best sounding. Twenty large — enough to buy a new Honda Civic — is a very great deal to pay for a power cord, and most can’t pay it at all. The audiophile masses will take solace in the technologies that I hope will eventually trickle down from the SR25.

Can a $20,000 power cord constitute a bargain? It can, if it delivers a greater improvement in sound than you’d get from spending an extra $20,000 on, say, a six-figure power amp. However, expanding on Ted Denny’s point that a power conditioner can feed every active device in an audio system, I recommend starting with Synergistic’s PowerCell 12 UEF SE conditioner ($6495/120V), which provides the most bang for the buck. But if you choose to forgo the kids’ college educations for the silver-laden SR25, be prepared to experience what could very well be the state of the art of power delivery.”
